"When you push the door of the Chelsea Hotel, you
arrive somewhere else. Here the man who waits in the lobby could be anything but a client, he has probably been sitting on that sofa for almost thirty years ; he is "vintage". Wandering in the
corridors, you may find a mirror, and when looking at yourself you realize that you too have been in the landscape of this magical place since the origins. Besides, the Chelsea Hotel is not the
kind of place where you spend a single night. You know when you step in, but you may finally spend the rest of your life here. A life. There are so many lives here. They are hanging on the walls,
taking any possible form, paintings, songs, pictures, music, furniture, all the lives are here. There is no "Chelsea spirit", there is the mere freedom of having chosen to push that
door."
